"King Jeremy, the Wicked"

So I went to Kereoke last night and got a little tipsy and decided to sing Pearl Jam's Jeremy. Now, I am by no means a Pearl Jam fan, but the album Ten is a pretty good record start to finish. Get past the flannels and the whole grunge scene, and the songs stand out. Maybe I'm pushing this one a little too much...maybe I'm just trying to feel better after the scene last night. anyhooo...enjoy. Jeremy

The Dark End of the Street

So not that any one reads this thing, but I have a big interest in soul music. I love all the motown favorites but there's alot of unheard artists from the 60's that are absolutely amazing. James Carr sang about heartbreak and sadness with an eerie conviction. No pop gloss on his songs, there enough to make you weep. Carr also had a lot of twangy "country" type guitar on his tracks which seperated him from many other soul singers of the period. So yeah it's late on a friday, I'm tired...I stayed in and having been listening to old soul records and drinking tea. The suckers out on the town don't know what there missing. Here's to you Mr. Carr.

I Heart SOV

I can't get enough of Lady Soveriegn, I don't know what it is but I'm totally hooked. I think I'm hanging up punk and indie and becoming a uk grime fanatic. I don't know how my friends will react, but who needs friends when you've got the SOV! ChaChing

it's a shame about ray
The Lemonheads are one of the bands I've always loved but never had any friends who were into them. Trying to explain how punk their first Lp Hate Your Friends is, or how Car Button Cloth is an amazing indie rock record never seems to sell. They had a brief moment of fame in the early 90's but then soon faded into "alternative" music memory. Well friends, I highly recommend some Lemonheads listening, start with "Its a shame about Ray" and then maybe "Hate Your Friends", if you want something more raw. This is live evan dando...so good, enjoy!

let it snow and snow and snow

So I spent a portion of the mid to late nineties scouring the earth for rare jawbreaker tracks. Hours and hours scouring every record store in the greater northeast, I finally completed my collection a few years back. And not even a month later Jawbreaker ect. came out which features all the songs I sweated blood and tears finding. Oh well. Jawbreaker had(and still does) a special place in my life. Blakes lyrics spoke to hopeless romantics in a way most punk bands couldn't. So I was bored on the web and found this gem. Yup I was the buyer of that. God am I a nerd...
